Our Ultra Gold 24k Neocaridina Shrimp
Our Ultra Gold 24k Neocaridina are a stunning selectively bred line that have been thriving and breeding consistently in our planted colony tank here in Chester. What started as a sourced colony has been growing and strengthening for months, with each new generation showing the rich, opaque warm gold coloration and full leg and swimmeret coverage that defines a true 24k grade shrimp.
They live in a heavily planted setup built around Tropica Aquasoil, large spiderwood and dragonstone hardscape, with java moss, java fern, anubias and a variety of floating plants providing grazing surfaces, cover for juveniles and a natural, rich environment that keeps the colony active and breeding freely, before the babies are moved to the grow-out tank.
We run the tank at a pH of 7.6, KH of 6 and GH of 7 — stable, consistent parameters that Neocaridina davidi genuinely thrive in. Stability is everything with shrimp — chasing perfect numbers matters far less than keeping whatever numbers you have rock solid week on week.
Feeding is varied and rotational. The colony receives Glasgarten Shrimp Dinner, Shrimp Baby, Shrimp Fit, BactorAE, snowflake and occasional bloodworm throughout the week. A varied diet alongside the natural biofilm produced by a mature, well-planted tank keeps the shrimp in excellent condition and supports healthy breeding, successful moults and strong coloration in every generation.
